چکیده

Intensified cultivation of rice has accelerated weathering most tropical acid soils leading to significant loss base cations. In developing countries, yield is low and this results in its production being costly because productivity versus labor low. The objectives study were (i) enhance soil chemical properties, nutrient uptake, grain grown on a mineral using agro-wastes; (ii) determine the agro-waste (chicken manure, cow dung, forest litter, Leucaena) that potential significantly increase yield; (iii) residual effects organic amendments produced from agro-wastes productivity. treatments used three-cycle field without (S0); prevailing recommended rates for fertilizers (NPK-Mg); biochar–forest litter compost (OSA1); (iv) biochar–chicken (OSA2); (v) biochar–cow dung (OSA3); (vi) biochar–Leucaena (OSA4); (vii) biochar–Leucaena–chicken (OSA5). Standard procedures plants’ growth, yield, plant concentrations selected properties. use (OSA1 OSA5) improved compared with method cultivating (NPK-Mg). application reduced inorganic N, P, K, MgO, trace elements up 25%, 100%, 64%, respectively. Leucaena increased OSA5 at 11.17, 13.11, 10.06 t ha−1 first, second, third cropping cycles, effect also although these slightly as those two previous afore-stated superior Transforming into can improve

Coapplication of Chicken Litter Biochar and Urea Only to Improve Nutrients Use Efficiency and Yield of Oryza sativa L. Cultivation on a Tropical Acid Soil

The excessive use of nitrogen (N) fertilizers in sustaining high rice yields due to N dynamics in tropical acid soils not only is economically unsustainable but also causes environmental pollution. The objective of this study was to coapply biochar and urea to improve soil chemical properties and productivity of rice. Biochar (5 t ha(-1)) and different rates of urea (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, and 0%...

Integrated nutrient management and LCC based nitrogen management on soil fertility and yield of rice (Oryza Sativa L.)

The experiment was conducted at lowland series of wet lands, International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) Farm, Los Banos, Laguna, Philippines. The rice variety PSBRc 82 was raised during wet season (June – October), and the experiment was laid out in randomized block design with four replications. There were eleven treatments viz., control, recommended NPK fertilizer, -N, -P, -K, LCC 3, LCC 4,...

Rice (Oryza sativa L) plantation affects the stability of biochar in paddy soil

Conversion of rice straw into biochar for soil amendment appears to be a promising method to increase long-term carbon sequestration and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The stability of biochar in paddy soil, which is the major determining factor of carbon sequestration effect, depends mainly on soil properties and plant functions. However, the influence of plants on biochar stability in...

Nitrogen and phosphorus availability in composted and uncomposted poultry litter.

Poultry litter applications to land have been based on crop N requirements, resulting in application of P in excess of plant requirements, which may cause degradation of water quality in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The effect of litter source (the Delmarva Peninsula and Moorefield, West Virginia) and composting of poultry litter on N mineralization and availability of P in two soil types (san...

Biochar derived from corn straw affected availability and distribution of soil nutrients and cotton yield

Biochar application as a soil amendment has been proposed as a strategy to improve soil fertility and increase crop yields. However, the effects of successive biochar applications on cotton yields and nutrient distribution in soil are not well documented. A three-year field study was conducted to investigate the effects of successive biochar applications at different rates on cotton yield and o...
